   note.    my portrayal of Betty is canon divergent, meaning I take bits and pieces from each season as well as other canon resources (Riverdale books and comics/Archie comics) and other roles of lili’s and use them to create my idea of Betty.I use season 1-4 Betty personality wise for Betty’s personality, and visuals from all seasons. from season 7 I do personally like Betty’s sexuality plotline that I feel is rather realistic for somebody like Betty, so that is something I use for Betty as well, not that it comes up but it’s a little note to add.

some changes I’ve made for my portrayal is betty does NOT go off to yale. After all the hell she’s gone through since her sophomore year of high school she felt that she needed a gap year. Within that time she does a lot of self work and reflection, and therapy, realizing she doesn’t need academic validation to prove to herself or others that she is successful etc, she never does go to Yale, but rather begins working at the Riverdale Register like she always wanted growing up (it’s legit mentioned in 1.22, okay?) and then eventually goes on to own the business.with this she also helps make the paper inclusive and overly truthful which isn’t always the journalism people want to see, so Betty is often getting in hot water for not sugar coating or lying (she uses her detective skills to get to the truth of things before putting it in the paper). she also has northsiders and Southsiders alike write for the paper, even if they have no experience, to help them gain that knowledge.She does still investigate, but often it’s helping Charles (referring to my own portrayal of him), with fbi related stuff, as well as Sheriff Jones.

I personally see Betty as more of a platonic wife to Jughead than anything else, due to my love of Charles I feel like Bughead is just super duper close and can often be mistaken for a couple but are actually just super close friends, but they did briefly date in their sophomore year.
